-----
A cold front will move through Middle Tennessee overnight, bringing big changes to the area.
Temperatures will fall 30 degrees overnight, to the low 30s by early Thursday morning.
Rain will push through, becoming heavy at times, as the front pushes through around midnight.
Along with heavy pockets of rain, winds will remain gusty through Thursday morning.
As cold air moves in overnight, a narrow band of winter mix will be possible for those along and east of I-65.
It's possible we could see a mix of sleet/snow, but little to no accumulation is expected.
A second wave of snow showers will arrive by Thursday afternoon and evening for those east of I-65. This will be the best chance at any accumulating snow, mainly on the Cumberland Plateau. Up to 1" is possible in the more intense bands of snow showers.
Temperatures will continue to tumble Christmas Eve night. By Christmas morning, lows will drop to the upper teen and low 20s. Single digit wind chills are likely. Brr!
