Meteorologist Brett Luna says All Winter Weather Advisories are on track and set to run until 9 a.m. Thursday morning.
New ice accumulation of 0.01-0.10" is possible Wednesday night through Thursday morning.
A light glaze could form over some of the roads within the Advisory areas and could create slick driving conditions especially on bridges and overpasses.
However, widespread bad driving conditions aren't expected but being smart out there is important, says Brett.
Freezing rain Wednesday night could now have some sleet mixed in as well. Brett says sleet tends to bounce off the ground and things like trees and power lines., whereas freezing rain will stick right to anything it makes contact with. Some areas might even see a little bit of very light snow mixed in tonight as well.
Nashville is not included within the Winter Weather Advisory, but there is likely to be some freezing rain move through Wednesday night and early Thursday morning.
Temperatures will warm Thursday, which will assist any precipitation Thursday afternoon and evening to appear as rain. Temperatures will be even warmer for the weekend.
Highs will be in the lower 50s by Saturday and in the upper 50s Sunday, with lower 60s for the start of next week.
