Oscar Mayer's iconic Wienermobile will be renamed to the Frankmobile, CNN reports.

The hot-dog shaped vehicle is changing its name after practically existing a century, CNN confirms.

CNN reports Oscar Mayer says the new vehicle name "pays homage" to a new hot dog recipe expected to come this summer.

The now Frankmobile's new hot dog recipe is the first change to Oscar Mayer's franks in six years, CNN reports.

Oscar Mayer started in 1873 when 14-year-old Oscar F. Mayer moved the the U. S. from Bavaria. Mayer started as a butcher's boy, and then worked his way into the meatpacking industry.

Mayer opened his first shop in 1883, and the business expanded into Wisconsin from Chicago in 1919. The famous Wienermobile was launched in 1936, starting its national sensation.
