HERMITAGE, Tenn. (WZTV) — A Ladd Park home in Hermitage was on fire Thursday afternoon after being struck by lightning, confirms Metro Nashville Fire.
Flames could be seen on the roof of the house, they say. No injuries have been reported, although the owner was home at the time of the fire.
The homeowner, Joseph Girgis, said he was inside the home when he heard a loud boom, running outside to call 911 around 3:30 p.m.
Property damage to the house did occur, he said.
FOX 17 News reporter Kylie Walker spoke to Girgis.
It looked like a bomb," Girgis said. "I go down the stairs, I go outside and outside the front door my neighbor over here told me there was a fire in the roof.
No injuries were sustained in the incident.
